HUNTER EDUCATION

Perry held a Hunter Ed. course again this year on June 12th & 13th . Congratulations to the sixteen students who graduated.

FISH RODEO

Perry again co-sponsored with Lenhartsville Fish & Game this year a youth trout fishing rodeo at their pond on Saturday, May 9th . The rodeo was open to members of both clubs, their children and grand-children at the lower pond.

BOARD SHOOTS

The remaining 2026 Board shoots are on September 13th, October 11th , and November 8th No shoot during December. Sign-up begins at 8:30 a.m. and the shoots start at 9:00 a.m. You are competing for very nice meat trays from Christman’s in Oley. Splatter boards and strip tickets for meat trays are also sold during those events. For every entry sign-up your name is also entered in a special drawing after the November shoot for a gift card.

TRAPSHOOTING

Perry is currently in 4th place in the 2026 Berks County Amateur Trap shooting league. Lenhartsville is currently leading Perry in the Monday evening league. That league continues through the end of September; and you can still join. Our July 4th monthly shoot will celebrate the 250th anniversary of America with special reduced rates and free food and refreshments.

2026 SUMMER GUN RAFFLE TICKET

Perry has a current summer gun raffle ticket with drawing on August1st. This is a progressive ticket with 6 firearms to start. More guns and/or cash prizes will be added based on brisk ticket sales. Last year we awarded 7 guns and 1 cash prize (8 total). Complete the ticket application form on our web site under the “Make A Payment” tab and mail a check or money order in the correct amount to Perry Township Game Association, P.O. Box 324, Shoemakersville, Pa. 19555. The cost is $5 each or 5 for $20.

STOP SHOOTING AFTER SUNSET

We have received many complaints from neighbors and township supervisors about shooters firing after sunset. We have installed video cameras to monitor activity on the grounds more closely. Your membership will be revoked if you participate in shooting after hours and we will pursue legal action against trespassers.

BIG GAME

Arnold Eichert won the 2025-2026 longest turkey beard contest with an entry of 9-1/2 inches taken in Schuylkill County.

22nd Women On Target® Clinics

Perry, along with the NRA Women On Target® program and NRA Foundation will again hold two 22nd annual non competitive, instructional clinics in recreational shooting and hunting sports this year Congratulations to the 13 students who graduated at the June 20th event. A second clinic is scheduled for September 19th. Entries are limited to 32 participants in each event. The courses include instruction in safe firearms handling, hands-on pistol, rifle, shotgun and archery shooting. To register go to the nra.org web site. Click on Firearms Training, Women’s Programs, Women-On Target. Then select the 9/19 date and register. You must pay the $50 pre-registration fee on our web site. Click on the date in the Events tab and then click on our PayPal account button to pay with credit card.

BRASS COLLECTION BOXES

New collection boxes are installed and the Association will be recycling spent brass. Please deposit spent brass in the new containers.
