Join the NRA at our Association 

HUNTER EDUCATION 

Perry will have a Hunter Ed. course again this year. Go to the Pa. Game Commission website to register for our course on Friday evening and Saturday morning, June 12th and 13th. Must attend both sessions.

STOP SHOOTING AFTER SUNSET 

We have received numerous complaints from neighbors and the township supervisors that shooters are firing at  Perry after sunset during darkness. Your membership will be revoked if caught participating in such activity.

BOARD SHOOTS 

Board shoots restart on April 12th. The other five shoot dates are May 10th, June 14th, September 13th, October  11th, and November 8th. None in December during 2026. Sign-up begins at 8:30 a.m. and the shoots start at 9:00  a.m. You are competing for very nice meat trays from Christman’s in Oley. Splatter boards and strip tickets for meat trays are also sold during those events. For every entry sign-up your name is entered in a special drawing after the  last shoot for a $200 gift card.

TRAPSHOOTING NEWS 

Perry finished 5th in the 2025-2026 Berks County Inter-valley Trap  League. The 2026 Berks County Amateur Trap League starts April 19th at Leesport Gun Club. We welcome new shooters to compete on Perry’s team. No handicap trap shoots will be held again during April this year. The Monday evening league starts May 4th at Lenhartsville and  the shoots alternate back and forth  between Lenhartsville and Perry.

FISHING RODEO 

Perry is co-sponsoring with Lenhartsville Fish & Game again this year to hold a youth trout fishing rodeo at their  pond on Saturday, May 9th. The rodeo is open to members of both clubs, their children and grandchildren at the lower  pond at Lenhartsville. You must have a fishing license and  show your membership card to enter. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. and fishing at 8:00 a.m. for kids 15 years of age or  younger. Adults, 16 years of age and over, can fish after 12:00 p.m. up to dark. Prizes will be awarded. Bring your kids and fishing tackle for a day filled with fun. There is a  three fish limit. Cost is $5 for kids and $10 for adults.

Summer Gun Raffle Ticket  

Perry has an upcoming summer gun raffle ticket available starting May with  drawing on August 1st. This will be a progressive ticket with 8 firearms to start. More guns and/or cash prizes will be added based on brisk ticket sales. After May 1st complete the ticket application form on our web site under the “Make A Payment” tab and mail a  check or money order in the correct amount to Perry Twp. Game Association, P.O. 22nd Annual Women On Target®  Clinics 

Perry, along with the NRA Women On Target® program and NRA Foundation will again hold two 22nd annual non competitive, instructional clinics in recreational shooting and hunting sports this year on June 20th and September 19th. Entries are limited to 32 participants in each event. The courses include instruction in safe firearms handling, hands-on pistol, rifle, shotgun and archery shooting. To register go to the nra.org web site. Click on Firearms Training, Women’s  Programs, Women-On Target. Then select your preferred date and register. You must pay the $50 pre-registration fee on our web site. Click on the date in the Events tab and then click on our PayPal account button to pay with credit card.

BIG GAME CONTESTS 

Marvin Burkert won the biggest bear contest with the only entry. For the largest deer rack entries Jared Shaffer  won the archery category, Arnold Eichert won the rifle category, Megan DeAngelo won the lady entry, Kylee Shaffer won the Junior entry and Gavin Shaffer won the drawing category. All were harvested in Berks County except Arnold’s was taken in Schuylkill County. The next turkey beard contest ends at 8:00 p.m. on June 24th.

DISPLAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD 

Membership cards must be visibly displayed while you are discharging a firearm. Use the provided clips at the  benches, a lanyard or pinned to your shirt or gun case. Mike Mescavage is our official range officer and he checks users frequently. You will be asked to leave the property if you do not have proof of membership.
