2022 CHANGES
We are now posting updated quarterly newsletters on our web site and only mailing one hard copy newsletter per year during July. We are changing our monthly trap shoots from the first Sunday of the month to the first Saturday of the month, April (first one on April 2nd) through Dec. Scheduled league shoots will still be held on Sundays. We welcome your comments or suggestions for changes.
Fishing Rodeo
Perry is co-sponsoring with Lenhartsville Fish & Game again this year to hold a youth trout fishing rodeo at their pond on Saturday, May 7th. The rodeo is open to members of both clubs, their children and grandchildren at
the lower pond at Lenhartsville. You must have a fishing license and show your membership card to enter. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. and fishing at 8:00 a.m. for kids 15 years of age or younger. Adults, 16 years of age and over, can fish after 12:00 p.m. up to 5:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded. Bring your kids and fishing tackle for a day filled with fun. There is a three fish limit. Cost is $5 for kids and $10 for adults.
Hunter Education
Perry will resume having a Hunter Ed. course this year. Go to the Pa. Game Commission web site to register for our course on Thursday and Friday evenings, August 4th and 5th. Must attend both. Limited to 50 students.
AFTER HOURS SHOOTING
We are experiencing people using their car headlights and firing after sunset at the ranges. This is a violation of our regulations. We received complaints from neighbors and the township Supervisors. If caught, member violators will have their membership permanently revoked. Trespassers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Big Game Contests
Dale Kramer won the biggest bear category with a 540 live weight harvest taken in Lycoming County. Garren Spohn won the biggest buck archery category with a 10 pointer and spread of 18-7/8 taken in Berks County. Arnold Eichert won the biggest buck rifle category with an 8 pointer and spread of 17-1/4 taken in Schuylkill County. All winners now receive a $75 award.
Membership
Renewal postcard reminders are mailed approximately 6 weeks before your expiration date. However, it is your responsibility to know your card’s expiration date and pay the $20 renewal fee before expiration in order to avoid the additional $10 re-join fee. We encourage everyone to pay with credit card on-line.
18th Annual Women On Target®
Perry, along with the NRA Women-On-Target® program and NRA Foundation will again hold two 18th annual non-competitive, instructional clinics in recreational shooting and hunting sports this year on June 18th and September 10th.
